Winter Snows and log fires make Hogsback a favoured winter destination.
Snow on Gaika mountain Hogsback, with cold clear winter nights is a wonder-filled winter destination. Snows may fall any time between May and December. Evenings (even on rainy summer nights) are cold. 
Clear winter skies, with no street lighting, make Hogsback a wonderful point for astronomical observation. No organised astronomy society exists at present. Bring your telescope or binoculars. 
All of our cottages offer log fires and a plentiful supply of firewood year round.
