Trees
Ashfield-on-Hogsback is situated on nearly seven acres of peaceful country property. Ashfield has an abundance of trees, including a ginkgo and a tulip tree, deodars, Canadian redwood, as well as pin-oaks, and ordinary pines. The flowering cherry outside the Main bedroom window is delight of pinkish pompoms in the Spring time.
The Stream
There is a stream in the back garden.
Plants
Ashfield has countless azaleas and rhododendrons which make a wonderful display of colour in Spring and early summer. Wild broom and foxgloves also delight the soul in this gentle country garden.
Birds
Hogsback is a birders delight. Bright red and green loeries flash by, enjoying the fruit of the dogwood trees. Rare Cape Parrots fly overhead. Many other species delight the eye. Wild francolin often wander around the undergrowth.
